On March 11, 2026, the joint press conference themed "Enzymatic Reconstruction & Recycling · Waste Garments Reborn" hosted by Shanghai Defulun New Material Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully held in Hall 8.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The event displayed the technological breakthroughs and innovative product achievements of enzymatic T2T recycled fiber, marking a crucial leap for China's recycled polyester fiber from traditional recycling modes to efficient circular utilization.

In her speech, Guan Xiaorui stated that the global textile industry is accelerating its transition toward sustainable development. Green low-carbon production and resource recycling have become key factors in industrial competition. National policies to promote green, low-carbon and circular development in the textile and apparel sector have also created broad prospects for the recycled fiber industry.
 
As a leading enterprise in differentiated polyester staple fibers and recycled fibers in China, Defulun has built a comprehensive R&D and service system, continuously providing high-quality and diversified fiber solutions for high-end apparel, home textiles and industrial textiles. The newly launched enzymatic T2T recycled fiber realizes efficient resource reconstruction of textile waste such as used clothing, forming a closed-loop circulation from waste garments to new fibers. It fully implements the national green development strategy, actively promotes the circular upgrading of the textile industrial chain, and injects new momentum into the sustainable development of the textile industry.

Wang Jiahuan

 

Wang Jiahuan, General Manager of the Marketing Center at Defulun, introduced that Defulun originated from China’s first polyester fiber manufacturer. Deeply engaged in differentiated polyester new materials, the company has obtained many qualifications including the Specialized, Refined, Differential and Innovative "Little Giant" Enterprise title. Currently, the recycled polyester market relies heavily on plastic bottles as raw materials, and blended fabrics are difficult to recycle. Defulun has deployed physical, chemical and enzymatic recycling technologies, among which the enzymatic method stands as its core breakthrough.
 
The newly launched enzymatic technology by Defulun aims to solve industry pain points such as massive textile waste, low recycling efficiency, dependence on plastic bottle raw materials, and difficulties in recycling blended fabrics. This technology precisely degrades PET waste with biological enzymes. The performance of its recycled fibers is comparable to virgin materials, featuring four major advantages: mild and efficient process, eco-friendliness, virgin-grade quality and infinite circulation, solving the key bottlenecks of T2T recycling. Meanwhile, relying on this technology, Defulun has developed five differentiated product series for summer comfort protection and winter warmth care. It realizes high-end positioning and multi-scenario application of recycled polyester fibers, and promotes the closed-loop green development of the textile industry through technological innovation.

Since the establishment of the Bio-enzymatic Recycled Polyester Industry Alliance in September 2025, its member enterprises have consistently focused on the research, industrialization and promotion of bio-enzymatic recycled polyester technologies, uniting upstream and downstream forces across the industrial chain to address common industry challenges. At the press conference, alliance members including Shanghai Defulun New Material Technology Co., Ltd., Zhangjiagang Zhitai New Material Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Zhongyuan Runsheng Industrial Group Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Xinfang Technology Group Co., Ltd., Zhangjiagang Shanhesheng Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. and Nanjing Shuxin Technology Co., Ltd. jointly took the stage to launch the Initiative for Coordinated Development of the Bio-enzymatic T2T Recycled Fiber Industrial Chain. They pledged to drive high-quality development of the recycled polyester industry and enable the full implementation and end-market empowerment of bio-enzymatic T2T recycling technology.
 
During the event, four alliance enterprises shared their technical advantages, business layouts and practical achievements from different perspectives, including waste textile recycling, enzymatic depolymerization of polyester, application of recycled polyester, and processing of polyester raw materials.

Li Bin, Marketing Director of Zhangjiagang Shanhesheng Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a report titled Digitalization + Technology Empowers Waste Textile Recycling. He stated that the company focuses on textile recycling and regeneration. Centering on digitalization and technological innovation, it integrates closed-loop management and full life cycle management to provide integrated solutions for pre-consumer and post-consumer textiles.
 
The company has built a closed-loop recycling ecosystem covering collection, remanufacturing and regenerated textiles, and developed diversified online and offline recycling channels. Its warehouse center completes collection, storage and preliminary sorting, capable of processing various waste textiles such as apparel accessories and home textiles.
 
As the largest recycling base in East China, it covers an area of 60,000 square meters and features integrated processing capabilities including cleaning and sorting. The digital factory realizes intelligent management and traceability throughout the whole process. With advantages of extensive channels, full traceability and eco-friendliness, the company also offers customized full life cycle services and joint R&D of recycled materials, helping the textile industry achieve green transformation.

Xiang Kewei As an environmental technology enterprise focusing on the enzymatic depolymerization and recycling of post-consumer waste polyester blends Nanjing Shuxin Technology Co., Ltd. is committed to promoting the green low-carbon and circular development of the textile industry With over 10 years of technical accumulation in PET enzymatic depolymerization the company continuously improves the resource utilization rate of waste textiles to meet the demand of end brands for post-consumer polyester Xiang Kewei CEO of the company delivered a report titled Industrial Practice on Enzymatic Depolymerization and Recycling of Post-consumer Waste Polyester Fabrics He stated that through technical optimization Shuxin has increased the enzyme expression level to over 10g/L greatly reducing enzyme costs It has broken through key technologies such as r-PTA recrystallization and r-EG refining and all indicators of r-PTA and r-PET products fully comply with relevant standards The company has obtained GRS certification and independent intellectual property rights The carbon emission of its r-PTA is 47% lower than that of petrochemical PTA It has also completed customer verification for various complex waste textiles helping customers meet EPR requirements and expand the recycling and application scenarios of PET waste materials

Mao Wangfeng Sales Director of Jiangsu Xinfang Technology Group Co., Ltd delivered a report titled The Application of Bio-enzymatic T2T Recycled Polyester in Knitted Blended Yarns He introduced that Jiangsu Xinfang Technology Group was founded in 2005 and originated from Daxin Woolen Mill established in 1982 It is a leading domestic wool spinning enterprise and an important production base for semi-worsted yarns The group owns multiple subsidiaries and has overseas layout with a factory in Indonesia The first phase of the Indonesian project covers an area of 40,000 square meters and started mass production in early 2026 with convenient transportation and logistics The group focuses on the research and production of high-end green knitted yarns and cooperates with well-known European and American brands such as Calvin Klein and ZARA Mao Wangfeng shared ten types of blended yarns integrated with T2T recycled polyester This fiber can be blended with cotton wool and other materials balancing environmental protection and performance The raw material features green and low-carbon properties The group also plans to extend its application to woven fabrics to continuously enrich the eco-friendly textile product line
