Nanjing Plastnew Technology Co., Ltd. focuses on the enzymatic depolymerization and recycling of polymer materials such as post-consumer waste polyester textiles. The company operates in the synthetic biology and new materials industries, with its core businesses being enzymatically recycled terephthalic acid (r-PTA) and polyester chips (r-PET).
The business process is as follows: Our company collects polymer materials including post-consumer polyester textiles and depolymerizes them into monomers terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol through enzymatic methods. The resulting recycled monomers feature circular properties. Compared with traditionally petrochemical-derived terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol, they not only reduce reliance on petroleum at the source but also deliver lower carbon emissions, helping downstream customers achieve their carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
Enzymatic recycling of waste polymer materials is an interdisciplinary and commercial field combining polymer science and life sciences. Our R&D facilities are located in the research group of Professor Dong Weiliang at Nanjing Tech University and the Sino-Danish Life Science Industrial Park in Pukou District. We are equipped with professional research instruments including clean benches, refrigerators, automatic fermenters, enzymatic hydrolysis tanks, protein purification systems, microplate readers, incubators, UV spectrophotometers, PCR instruments, differential scanning calorimeters and twin-screw extruders. The industrial park also provides shared supporting equipment for gene editing, gene sequencing and protein sequencing, forming a complete set of scientific research facilities.
